City of Regina Prepares to Spend $8.8 Million on North Central Shared Facility

Regina's North Central area will be upgrading with a welcoming addition with the $42 million school - library - community center, the "North Central Shared Facility".

The City of Regina is preparing to spend $8.8 million (CAD) for its share of the construction development.

The complex is scheduled to open to open in 2017 if all goes well. The new facility will be a replacement to the existing Scott Collegiate, the Albert Library, and Albert Scott Community Centre. There will also be recreation center and athletic facilities.

Developers and planners are hoping it will revitalize the Regina inner city neighbourhood.

Construction is set to begin this fall.

The "North Central Shared Facility" is a tempory name for the new complex, the planners officla website is asking community members to help and submit names for official name upon opening.
