A neighborhood in Oakville, Ontatio shook as a natural gas explosion occurred on a home being renovated this last Wednesday at around 5pm.

Local police reported that a construction crew had been renovating a new addition located at the back of a home located on Sandlewood Road when a natural gas line had gotten damaged causing part of the house to catch fire and explode.

The police added that the owners were at home as the blast occurred, but fortunately managed to exit the building safely. The construction crew had also managed to exit without any injuries.

Due to the explosion, roughly sixty homes had their homes affected as the main gas pipeline to Sandlewood Road had been temporarily turned off.

Police also stated quite a few homes in the surrounding neighborhood had also been evacuated temporarily.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation by inspectors and officials.
