TransCanada Moving Ahead with Oil Pipeline in Vaughan Ontario

TransCanada announced on November 4th 2014 that the firm will move forward with the development of their $475 million (CAD) pipeline expansion project in Vaughan, Ontario

The project is part of a plan to expand their facilities in the "Eastern Triangle" of the Canadian Mainline system. The firm said that the pipeline project with benefit southern Ontario with its natural gas infrastructures.

CEO and President Russ Girling said that TransCanada intends to invest $2 billion (CAD) to allow the growing supply of Marcellus gas to reach both the Ontario and Quebec markets by reducing delivery costs and diversifying the gas supply to Eastern Canada..

The companies news release stated the expansion "is the result of collaboration between TransCanada, Enbridge Gas Distribution, Union Gas and Gaz Metro".

Construction of TransCanada's Parkway West Connection, Kings North Connection and Hamilton Area Project are estimated to cost around $255 million (CAD) and to be in service by November 2015. The Vaughan pipeline and facilities are estimated to cost $220 million (CAD) and to be in service by November 2016.

TransCanada has been delivering natural gas to Canadians for over 60 years.
